MasterChef’s move to Batley’s Blenheim House
A MasterChef quarter-finalist has taken over the catering at a prestigious wedding and events venue.
Chris Hale who wowed judges on last year’s BBC cooking contest has taken the reins over the kitchen at the historical Blenheim House.
Mr Hale who lives in Wakefield and runs Pop Up North fine dining catering company, said: “It’s been a whirlwind of a year since appearing on MasterChef with so many opportunities to cook across the globe and indeed in the north of England.
“I’ve mainly been doing pop-up restaurants as I’ve been turning down a lot of offers from restaurants and venues to become a head chef. But I fell in love with Blenheim House and its unique features which are steeped in history.
“So it felt the right place to focus my talents and work with a fantastic team.”
Blenheim House hosts Weddings, Family Parties, Charity Events, Corporate Events and Ladies’ Nights whilst the venue has preserved its beautiful Victorian architecture and many of its original features.
Steve Rhodes from Blenheim House said: “We’re so pleased to have a Chris on board. He’s a fantastic chef and an asset to us and our clients. It really is the start of a new era for all involved – here’s to fine food in splendid surroundings.”
